The title refers to unknown land, but also the fear of making an ‘unknown’ art work.

This piece was made as a response to the earliest and most enigmatic of the chalk earthworks of southern England. Taking the form of a circular ditch and bank of chalk, interrupted by occasional gaps, they were constructed about 6000 years ago. Known as ‘Causwayed Enclosures’ they may have been meeting places or ritual sites
